Avebury parishlink

Avebury village at the centre of the parish, about 5 miles (8km) west of Marlborough, is encircled by the prehistoric monument complex also known as Avebury: the parish includes the nearby villages of Avebury Trusloe, Beckhampton and West Kennett. The village is close to two small streams which unite to form the River Kennet and is dominated by the megalithic complex, the largest ever to have been constructed in Britain: the history of the modern village is inevitably linked to the monuments that surround it.
